Typically sprinkler
systems are a series of heat sensitive sprinkler heads connected by
a network of pipes run through a property to an alarm sounder.
Once a sprinkler
head detects fire it activates, sounds an alarm and simultaneously
discharges water of a defined area.
Only the heads
that are in the presence of fire, not smoke, will operate.

British Standards
9251/2005
have been introduced to ensure
that any fire suppression system installed in a domestic or
residential properties were to a standard that safeguarded the
occupants. The standard lays down requirements for the minimum
amount of water that must be discharged onto the fire and for
how long the system should fight the fire.
'Ultrasafe Fire
Solutions'
are pleased to
announce that our domestic sprinkler system exceeds the
requirements of BS 9251/2005. Our
systems can be installed in any property and can be fed directly
from a water main or can be tank and pump fed. We can design
systems that are cost effective, efficient and reliable.
The advantages
-
reduction of other passive
fire safety measures;
-
reducing the need for, or
in some instances allowing removal of self closing fire
doors;
-
increasing escape travel
distances;
-
allowing buildings to be
used for purposes other than which they were designed for;
-
allowing buildings to be
built or converted to other uses which planning
restrictions would otherwise prevent
-
They are constantly on
guard and will attack a fire automatically.
