FACT: The release of greenhouse gases (CO2) can be reduced by 99% in a sprinklered property

Sprinklers are a viable green alternative as a fire suppression system

Helps reduce Co2 and CO emissions...

A sprinkler system can play its part in helping protecting our environment. When a fire occurs it can quickly pollute the atmosphere as a result of burning plastics, fabrics, metals and other materials within a property.  Naturally, the longer a fire burns the greater the amount of carbon dioxide and other dangerous gases will be released into the environment.

As a sprinkler system will control or extinguish a fire immediately ensuring that the environment is exposed to the minimum amount of pollution, especially where carbon dioxide and monoxide emissions are concerned.

A water mist system can specifically scrub the dangerous toxins out of the atmosphere in the event of a fire, there by preventing the release of emissions into the wider environment.

Helps save water...

On average the fire services will use as much as 600 litres of water per minute to tackle a fire. A domestic and residential system must be designed to discharge 60 litres of water per minute over a duration of 10 and 30 minutes respectively.

Studies show that sprinklers could conserve around 96% of the 5.6 billion litres of water used annually in the UK.

Compared to the performance of a conventional sprinkler system, a water mist system will use far less water (as well as doing a better job) to fight a fire, preventing even more water from being wasted.

Another way water can be saved and used efficiently is by having a sprinkler system fed off a water tank. A natural resource such as rain can be used to top up a tank should it be necessary.

Helps prevent water pollution...

When the fire services are fighting fires, the water used to douse the flames can get contaminated and quite often find its way back into the water system. This would be prevented by having a sprinkler system.

Helps save on land-fill...

When properties are damaged or destroyed by fire, burnt materials, valuables and debris go into our landfill sites. A sprinkler system would help minimise the destruction associated with fire and therefore help reduce such waste.

Helps save energy...

When homes are destroyed or repaired as a result of fire, energy will be used by the construction and services industries in the design, manufacture and installation of materials and appliances. Such energy can be seen as wasteful as a sprinkler system can significantly reduce the amount of fire damage and all therefore limit the amount of energy needed by the construction and service industries.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

Carbon Monoxide (CO)

Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN)
